Breaking: Gas leak in San Fernando Valley prompts warning to residents
A gas line leak in Valley Glen prompted police Tuesday to warn nearby residents to stay away from the intersection of Oxnard Street and Hazeltine Avenue.
The Los Angeles Police Department tweeted about the incident at 12:01 p.m., and a police spokesman said nearby buildings, including a gas station and convenience store, had been evacuated.
Authorities said they did not know what caused the rupture, and that workers were still assessing the damage and how wide an area was affected.
