A 15-year-old boy was struck and killed by a Metrolink train in Riverside, authorities said Thursday night.

The teen was hit by a train traveling west shortly before 6 p.m. at Madison Avenue just south of Indiana Avenue.

The railroad crossing arms were down, but the boy rode around the arms “with no regard for the westbound train,” the Riverside Police Department said.
