4.2 magnitude earthquake near Barstow felt as far as Orange County
A magnitude 4.2 earthquake was reported Sunday morning about 26 miles northwest of Barstow and could be felt as far away as Anaheim, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The quake struck at about 10:30 a.m. and was felt in areas as far as Victorville, Santa Monica, downtown Los Angeles and Orange County, according to the U.S. Geological Survey map.
The epicenter was about 23 miles from Johannesburg, Calif.; 36 miles from Ridgecrest, Calif.; and 62 miles from Lancaster.
There were no immediate reports of damage.
