Amber Alert: Missing girl, 3, found running in field; suspect at large
A 3-year-old girl who was abducted Sunday from a small town in Fresno County was found running through a field near where she went missing, authorities said.
Tanya Ruiz’s disappearance prompted a statewide Amber Alert Monday. She was abducted at 7:45 p.m. Sunday from the small town of Huron, according to the California Highway Patrol.
She was reunited with her mother and taken to a medical facility to be evaluated for possible injuries, KFSN-TV reported.
Her suspected abductor, however, remained at large as authorities combed the field where the girl was found for evidence.
Authorities described the suspect in the case as a man who is about 30 years old with long hair. He was last seen wearing a red shirt and red hat, they said.
There was no description of a vehicle.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to call 911 or the Huron Police Department at 559-945-2348.
