Armed suspect arrested, uninjured during deputy-involved shooting in Rosemead
Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies were involved in a shooting Tuesday with an armed man in Rosemead, but the suspect was uninjured and later detained, authorities said.
Deputies were trying to locate a man wanted in connection with a serious felony at a Motel 6 in the 1000 block of San Gabriel Boulevard, sheriff’s Deputy Juanita Navarro-Suarez said.
About 1:40 p.m., the man “emerged from the location” and brandished a handgun, prompting the shooting, Navarro-Suarez said.
The man was not hit, and deputies took him into custody, she said.
No deputies were injured during the arrest. A weapon was recovered at the scene.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
