Teen’s newborn found dead in bed; girl says she didn’t know she was pregnant
Reporting from Chula Vista — Chula Vista police Wednesday were continuing to investigate after parents of a 17-year-old girl found her newborn son dead in a bed.
Police say the parents called 911 Monday night after finding the infant boy while they were making the bed.
Investigators say the child appeared to have been carried to full term and belonged to the couple’s daughter, who had given birth 24 to 36 hours earlier.
The teenager told authorities she didn’t know she was pregnant and unknowingly gave birth while in bed.

Police are working with the San Diego County medical examiner’s office to determine whether a crime had occurred.
