Marine Corps Air Station Miramar investigating blackface video
Officials at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar are investigating a video that circulated on Twitter last week of two white men in blackface, a spokesman said.
The video captured what appeared to be Snapchat video of two white men in blackface. One man says “blackface” then the other puts on his cap, salutes and says “good morning, sir.” The first man then says, “Hello, monkey.”
A spokesman for the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing at the base said in a statement that officials are investigating.
“We are aware of the post,” 1st Lt. Fredrick D. Walker said. “An investigation has been initiated to determine the facts and circumstances surrounding the content. Our leaders are committed to maintaining an environment of professionalism, dignity and respect.”
