Man’s body found in Los Angeles River in Vernon

Police officials in Vernon are investigating the death of a man whose body was found Saturday in the Los Angeles River.
Few details were available Monday as detectives continued their investigation.
Officers found the body in the river near Soto Street and Bandini Boulevard while responding to an unrelated report of an injured person in the area, Vernon Police Sgt. Brandon Gray said.
According to The Times’ Homicide Report, there are have been no homicides in Vernon in the last 12 months.
Eleven people have been killed in Vernon since January 2001.
