Man is shot by police during traffic stop in Eagle Rock
A man is in stable condition after an officer-involved shooting in Eagle Rock early Tuesday morning.
Officers were conducting a traffic stop near Avenue 55 and Nordyke Street at about 2 a.m., when a man exited the driver’s seat, said Los Angeles Police Department Officer Jane Kim. After he exited, an officer-involved shooting occurred, Kim said.
A handgun believed to belong to the man is at the scene, Kim said. It is unclear whether the man pointed a gun at the officers.
“That’s still under investigation,” Kim said.
A female passenger is being interviewed, Kim said. The man, who is in his 30s, was transported to a local hospital and his condition is stable, officials said.
