Cloudy Easter Sunday expected, with slight chance of sprinkles
Easter Sunday will be cloudy with possibly a few sprinkles, but forecasters have toned down their predictions of a rainy holiday.
The storm system moving through Southern California is not carrying as much moisture as initially thought, said National Weather Service meteorologist Kathy Hoxsie.
The chance of rain on Sunday has been revised down to 20% from earlier forecasts of 30% to 50%. No rain is in the forecast for Monday.
If it does rain, expect only a light drizzle.
“People should be aware that they could get some sprinkles here and there, but I wouldn’t cancel anything,” Hoxsie said. “An umbrella would be good. I guess there could still be some sprinkles in the area.”
Clouds will begin moving into the area on Saturday, when highs will be in the upper 60s on the coast and mid 70s in the valleys. Sunday will be cooler, with morning lows in the 50s and highs ranging from upper 50s to upper 60s.
