Jumper on overpass forces shutdown of 5 Freeway in Castaic
A person threatening to jump from an overpass on the 5 Freeway in Castaic created a traffic nightmare Wednesday evening as officials shut down all lanes of the busy artery.
The closure of all southbound and northbound lanes was at Parker Road, the California Highway Patrol said.
The agency said the jumper was taken off the overpass about 5:45 p.m. and that all lanes would be open shortly after emergency vehicles left.
No other details were immediately available.
