A 34-year-old Anaheim man died this week after he got caught on the conveyor belt of a mobile asphalt crusher and pulled into the grinder, authorities said.

Rolando Anaya became entangled in the conveyor belt around noon Monday at an asphalt plant in the 25000 block of Maitri Road in Corona, according to the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner.

Kathleen Hennessey of Cal-OSHA told the Riverside Press Enterprise that Anaya was working near a conveyor belt underneath an asphalt grinder and “got caught on the conveyor belt and pulled into ... the grinder.”

Cal-OSHA inspectors who visited the plant have issued an order prohibiting further work “until the conditions that the inspectors are concerned about are fixed,” Hennessey told the newspaper.
