The woman died upon impact.

Police were monitoring the man's condition.

This isn't the first time a bystander has been hurt by a person jumping.

In December 2001, a man who allegedly had killed his wife jumped from the Century Freeway connector and landed on the roof of a car, killing the driver.

Osmin Ernesto Bonilla, 28, shot himself and plunged 80 feet below onto a Toyota Camry traveling south on the Harbor Freeway.

Bonilla's body crashed through the roof of the car, which continued traveling for about half a mile. The driver, Sandra Dwyer, 32, died at a nearby hospital and her passenger suffered injuries.
