Man shot, wounded in Lawndale
A young man was shot and wounded in Lawndale early Saturday, and the gunman remains at large, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies responded to a report of a shooting at 4:36 a.m. and found the victim, a 19-year-old man, in the street in the 15600 block of Grevillea Avenue. He had “at least one gunshot wound,” according to a sheriff’s statement.
The victim was treated at the scene and taken to a local hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, authorities said.
It was unknown if the shooting was gang-related, sheriff’s officials said. No further details were available.
