New brush fire threatening homes in Riverside County

A new, fast-moving brush fire broke out Wednesday south of Banning, prompting the closure of State Highway 243.
The Silver Fire has burned 500 acres so far. Authorities said it was threatening several homes.
According to CalFire, the blaze was burning at Poppet Flats Road near Hwy. 243.
