A 50-year-old pediatric nurse in San Diego has been arrested on suspicion of sexually molesting a 2-month-old boy left in his care as a foster parent.

Michael Lutts, who worked at Kaiser Permanente hospital, was arrested Tuesday by the FBI.

Agents found videos of Lutts molesting the crying infant, according to court documents.

The child had been born prematurely and assigned to Lutts as a foster parent. The molestation began Aug. 4, the day the infant was brought home by Lutts, according to the FBI.

The FBI began investigating Lutts after a computer search in another case found that he controlled an email address that was sending child pornography to someone suspected of distributing child pornography, according to court documents.

A search of Lutts’ home Tuesday led to the seizure of hard drives and CDs with “several hundred images and videos depicting child pornography,” the FBI said.

Lutts was taken to the federal prison in downtown San Diego.
