Suspect dead, officer shot in hand in Inglewood, police say
One suspect was killed and a police officer was wounded early Friday in a shooting in Inglewood, authorities said.
Few details have been released about the shooting as detectives continue to comb through evidence at the scene.
The shooting occurred as police responded to a report of a person screaming at 3 a.m. near Doty Avenue and Imperial Highway, Inglewood police Lt. Scott Collins said.
One officer was shot in the hand and a suspect was fatally wounded, Collins said. Neither was identified.
The officer was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was in stable condition.
