Rainstorm brings cooler temperatures, chance of thunder
A rainstorm bringing wet conditions and cloudy skies to Southern California could bring thunderstorms to the area Monday night and Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
Up to half an inch of rain is expected in the region through Tuesday, with temperatures hovering in the 60s during the day, which is about five to 10 degrees cooler than normal for this time of year, the weather service said.
There’s a chance of thunderstorms Monday night and a 50% chance of rain and thunderstorms Tuesday. It’s expected to warm into the 70s through the rest of the week with foggy mornings into the weekend.
The wet weather so far seemed to have only minimal impact on Monday morning commuters with a SigAlert issued on the 101 Freeway about 5 a.m. Authorities quickly cleared the crash and weather-related other fender benders as the work week began.
