A Missouri state senator got straight to the point Wednesday night and obscenely accused the governor, over Twitter, of lying about the volatile situation in Ferguson.

State Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal, who has joined the community in protesting the shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown, the unarmed African American killed Saturday by a police officer, has been a vocal critic of the police response to the situation.

Wednesday night, after some protesters allegedly threw rocks and Molotov cocktails at police, who responded with tear gas and rubber bullets, Gov. Jay Nixon addressed the unrest on Twitter.

“As Governor, I’m committed to ensuring pain of last weekend’s tragedy does not continue to be compounded by this ongoing crisis. #Ferguson,” Nixon tweeted.

Chappelle-Nadal, unimpressed, responded: “@GovJayNixon @jmannies ... you, Governor. I’m calling your bull...!”

As of 4:30 p.m., the senator’s tweet was still posted, with 375 retweets and 387 favorites.
