Readers React: Rich kids get richer

Your article lists six universities that have raised or intend to raise more than $33 billion through fund drives. Our K-12 public schools, where some of the students for these institutions will come from, fight for every dollar and still have terrible results in our poorest neighborhoods. (“UCLA plans $4.2-billion fundraising drive to mark 2019 centennial,” May 15)
This seems to point out another instance of the disparity between the haves and the have-nots. We know it is not just a matter of throwing money at the problem, but it would be morally right to see some attempt to address this disparity.
I suppose having your name on a building at Stanford beats having it associated with the science lab at Dorsey High (no offense intended to Dorsey).
