Letters: Union Station’s not-welcome mat

Re “No ticket, no sitting at L.A.’s Union Station,” Dec. 22

One downtown resident quoted in the article thinks it is unfair that homeless people are not being permitted to “get warm” in Union Station.

If she wants to help remedy that, she could invite some of the homeless to get warm in the lobby of her building or, better yet, in her home. My guess is that she would not be too hot about that idea.

So, allowing the homeless to take shelter in a dry, warm public space is a health concern, but booting them out into the cold, wet night is not?
