Readers React: Do Sanders’ supporters really want to end the ‘Bernie blackout’?

Share

To the editor: If supporters of Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) are upset he doesn’t get enough news coverage, they should be careful what they wish for. (“‘Bernie blackout’ -- behind the numbers that have protesters in the streets,” April 5)

In an interview with the New York Daily News, Sanders demonstrated his gross ignorance of international affairs by citing that “over 10,000 innocent” civilians were killed in the Gaza conflict with Israel in 2014. This immensely inflated figure is seven times the number of casualties claimed by the terrorist organization Hamas, which has a history of exaggerating body counts and doesn’t need any extra help from Sanders.

Is this what his supporters want?
