Readers React: Clinton speaks out on Ferguson and race

To the editor: I totally concur with Hillary Rodham Clinton’s remarks regarding the unacceptable ongoing discriminatory practices experienced by blacks. (Re “Clinton on Ferguson: ‘We can do better’ “ Aug. 29)

Furthermore, and readily documented, Latinos experience much of the same treatment.

Perhaps a more meaningful reality show entitled “White Is the New Black” could be produced. Locations would be varied.

I’m sure that being denied a double double mocha or Botox treatment in Beverly Hills is all that these participants would be able to endure.

Better yet, perhaps prime-time network television should include more positive portrayals of all minorities rather than the ingrained, negative stereotypes shown on the screen. Such characterizations only serve to fuel further bias.
