Man slashes five family members in Ocean Crest melee

During a family’s Christmas Eve party in Ocean Crest, a man wielding broken bottles and glass stabbed five victims before rushing off, authorities say.
San Diego police detectives believe the melee was triggered by a scuffle that broke out between relatives shortly before midnight Sunday. They declined to report the medical status of the alleged victims.
Authorities say the suspect is known to the family but declined on Christmas afternoon to name him or say if he had been apprehended.
