Driver fails to turn at the end of Laguna Canyon Road and ends up on the beach
Officers arrested a suspected drunk driver who rolled onto the beach Sunday night, according to the Laguna Beach Police Department.
A woman driving down Laguna Canyon Road about 11:15 p.m. apparently didn’t realize the street ends in a T intersection at Coast Highway, Laguna Beach police Sgt. George Ramos said.
Instead of turning left or right, she kept driving straight toward the ocean, according to police.
Ramos said she hit a high curb and did severe damage to her car but kept on traveling toward the beach.
“She made it to the sand,” he said.
Police arrested the woman on suspicion of driving under the influence. Authorities could not immediately provide her name.
