Police, others honored for achievements

The Huntington Beach Police and Community Foundation hosted its first Huntington Beach Police Department Awards on Thursday morning. The ceremony honored law enforcement officials, civilian members of the department and residents for various achievements.

The following are award recipients:

•Christopher Womack — Community Service Award

•Officer Joseph Kearby — Crime Fighter Award

•Det. Thoby Archer — Crime Fighter Award

•Melissa Dobson — Civilian Employee of the Year

•Lt. Scott Winks, Sgt. Mike Szyperski, Det. Trent Tunstall, Sgt. Oscar Garcia, Rafael Mena — Unit / Team Award

•Officer Juan Munoz — Officer of the Year

•Sgt. Aaron Garrido — Supervisor of the Year

•Shirley Salter — Award of Merit

•Officer Robert Frahm — Award of Merit

•Sgt. Chris Tatar, Sgt. Barry Case (retired), Katie Holtsclaw, Melissa Hartley, Dawn Curran-Tubb, Rosy De Leon — Award of Merit

•Officer Kurt Stoecklein — Award of Merit

•Capt. William Stuart — Distinguished Service Award
