Canines rule the waves at Surf City Surf Dog Competition

Share

Huntington Beach always has waves, but on Sunday they were filled with woofs and wags as the seventh annual Surf City Surf Dog Competition came to Huntington Dog Beach.

The contest completed three days of events that began Friday with an opening ceremony at the Kimpton Shorebreak Hotel and continued Saturday with a History of Dog Surfing exhibit and the induction of three dogs to the International Surf Dog Walk of Fame during a ceremony at the International Surfing Museum in Huntington Beach.

Proceeds from admissions to the opening ceremony, raffle ticket sales and pledge donations and $10 from each competition registration fee will benefit Barks of Love Animal Rescue, Huntington Dog Beach, the French Bulldog Rescue Network, Southern California Bulldog Rescue, Southern California Golden Retriever Rescue and Westie Rescue of Orange County.
