at Philadelphia 10, Toronto 3: Jason Werth hit three home runs and drove in eight runs. He hit an 0-and-1 pitch for a three-run homer to right field in the second inning and followed with a 425-foot grand slam to right on a 3-and-1 pitch in the third. He then hit a solo shot to left-center on a 2-and-1 pitch in the fifth to give the Phillies a 9-2 lead.

Kansas City 7, at Florida 6: Brett Tomko pitched six innings for his first victory in nearly six weeks, and the Royals extended their winning streak to five games -- their longest since last June. Tomko (2-4) yielded five hits and two runs to win for the first time since April 6.

at Baltimore 5, Washington 3: Melvin Mora hit a tiebreaking double in the fifth inning for the Orioles.

at Cincinnati 4, Cleveland 3: Adam Dunn drew a tiebreaking walk with the bases loaded in the eighth inning, sending the Reds to their season-high fourth win in a row.

at Atlanta 3, Oakland 2: Mark Kotsay drove in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning with a two-out double, and the Braves won their eighth in a row at home. The loss was a season-high fourth in a row for the A’s.

at Texas 16, Houston 8: Josh Hamilton went five for five with two long homers and five RBIs. His second homer, a three-run shot, gave the Rangers an 8-2 lead in the fourth inning. He increased his major league-leading RBI total to 49.

Tampa Bay 3, at St. Louis 1: The Rays (25-17) are eight games above .500 for the first time in franchise history. They have won eight of nine with two shutouts while outscoring the opposition, 38-15.

Minnesota 4, at Colorado 2: Nick Blackburn pitched seven strong innings to help the Twins end a three-game skid. Joe Nathan is perfect in 13 save opportunities.

San Diego 6, at Seattle 4: Chris Young (4-3) won for the third time in his last four starts. Staked to a 4-0 lead, he gave up three runs in the second, two scoring on Kenji Johjima’s homer.

at Arizona 4, Detroit 3: The Diamondbacks scored the go-ahead run on a two-out throwing error by third baseman Carlos Guillen.

Chicago White Sox 2, at San Francisco 0: Alexei Ramirez hit his first major league homer, a two-run shot in the seventh inning that proved the difference.

at Chicago Cubs 7, Pittsburgh 4: Alfonso Soriano, who homered on the first pitch from Tom Gorzelanny for his third leadoff home run in four games, hit a three-run shot in the second inning that gave the Cubs a 6-0 lead.

N.Y. Mets at N.Y. Yankees, ppd., rain: The game likely will be made up in June. It could be rescheduled as part of a doubleheader during their June 27-29 series.

Milwaukee at Boston, ppd., rain: The game was rescheduled as part a day-night doubleheader today.

at Angels 4, Dodgers 2: Vladimir Guerrero drove in two runs without a hit to help the Angels.
