ESPN’s Bill Simmons returns to the airwaves, Twitter

ESPN analyst Bill Simmons will return to the airwaves and Twitter on Wednesday after serving out his three-week suspension for a tirade against NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.

Simmons will resume all duties for his podcast with zero changes following his reinstatement, an ESPN spokesman told the Los Angeles Times.

The popular and somewhat controversial Simmons was suspended without pay after he used the F-word multiple times while passionately exclaiming that Goodell was lying about his involvement and knowledge of the mishandling of the Ray Rice domestic abuse scandal.

Simmons show, “The B.S. Report,” is hosted on ESPN.com.

During the show and after the Goodell rant, Simmons dared ESPN to suspend him for his comments. The ESPN brass did just that.

Immediately after the suspension was announced, #FreeSimmons began trending worldwide on Twitter.

During his suspension, Simmons was not allowed to use Twitter, on which he has close to 3 million followers. However, that did not stop Simmons from using Instagram to show what he was up to during his suspension, which seemed to involve a lot of golfing.
