Clippers sign center Chuck Hayes
The Clippers have signed veteran big man Chuck Hayes to a non-guaranteed one-year contract, according to an NBA official not authorized to speak publicly on the matter.
The official described Hayes’ deal as a “training camp/make-good” contract that would pay him about $1.49 million if he makes the team.
Hayes, 32, is a 10-year veteran who played for Toronto last season. In 29 games with the Raptors, Hayes averaged 3.7 points and 5.0 rebounds.
At 6 feet 6, Hayes is an undersized power forward/center, but he is a good low-post defender.
The signing of Hayes gives the Clippers 15 players under contract.
