Share

Awards season started for Clayton Kershaw on Monday night.

Kershaw became the first player ever to win three Players Choice Awards in a single season: Major League Baseball player of the year, National League outstanding pitcher and Marvin Miller Man of the Year.

The Man of the Year award recognized Kershaw’s charitable endeavors.

The awards were voted on by MLB players.

Kershaw is expected to win more awards next week.

He figures to win his third National League Cy Young Award on Nov. 12. He could win the National League most valuable player award the following day.

Kershaw’s greatest competition for the MVP award could be from Giancarlo Stanton of the Miami Marlins, who won the Players Choice Award as the outstanding NL player.
