REPORTING FROM SAN DIEGO — Corey Seager of the Dodgers has been named to the Arizona Fall League’s Top Prospects team.
Seager, 20, is regarded as one of the top hitting prospects in baseball. Playing for the Glendale Desert Dogs, Seager batted .281 with one home run and 14 runs batted in in 23 AFL games.
Seager is expected to be in major league camp in spring training. He is a shortstop now, but some think his size might force him to move to third base in the future.
Two other Dodgers made the AFL’s Top Prospects team: second baseman Darnell Sweeney and outfielder Scott Schebler.
Sweeney was fifth in the AFL with a .316 average. Schebler was nominated for the AFL’s MVP award after hitting .310 with five home runs.
