DUCKS UP NEXT

AT EDMONTON

When: Thursday, 6 p.m. PST.

On the air: TV: Channel 13; Radio: 830.

Update: The Ducks will try to get a third straight win for just the second time this season and can get to .500 for the first time. Defense has been the foundation as Anaheim has allowed two goals in two games without injured top-pairing defenseman Cam Fowler. Sami Vatanen, Hampus Lindholm and Kevin Bieksa have largely shouldered more responsibility and 20-year-old Shea Theodore contributed nearly 16 minutes of quiet, responsible play with partner Clayton Stoner in his NHL debut Tuesday. Ducks center Shawn Horcoff, a former Oilers captain, has goals in two straight games. Edmonton looks to rebound from a 5-2 loss to the Kings on Tuesday. The Oilers rallied twice from third-period deficits to beat the Ducks, 4-3, on Teddy Purcell’s overtime goal Nov.11. Oilers center Leon Draisaitl has been a pleasant surprise with 31 points in 28 games.
