Perhaps the two best high school baseball players from Southern California, Hunter Greene of Sherman Oaks Notre Dame and Royce Lewis of JSerra, helped the USA 18U national team rally for a 5-4 victory over Cuba on Saturday in the COPABE Pan American “AAA” Championships in Monterrey, Mexico.
Down, 4-1, going to the bottom of the eighth inning, USA scored four runs. Greene had an RBI double and Lewis scored the go-ahead run.
Greene and Lewis each had two hits in three at-bats to help USA improve to 2-0 in the tournament.
