Baseball: Incoming freshman Hagen Danner commits to UCLA

Hagen Danner, an incoming freshman catcher at Huntington Beach High, has committed to UCLA. It’s the second time in as many summers that Bruins Coach John Savage offered and got a commitment from a player who hadn’t played a day of high school baseball.
Last summer, it was Chase Strumpf from JSerra. He ended being a starter as a freshman and a star this past summer on the USA U15 gold medal team.
Danner was a standout for the Ocean View Little League team that won the Little League World Series in 2011. He’s expected to be one of the top freshmen contributors in Southern California this spring.
