Basketball: Ann Meyers Drysdale is honored at Nike Extravaganza
Former Sonora High and UCLA standout is saluted
Hall of Famer Ann Meyers Drysdale, one of the best female athletes in Southern California sports history, was honored on Saturday night at the Nike Extravaganza at Santa Ana Mater Dei.
Meyers received the Legends of the Court award.
She’s a former Sonora High and UCLA standout who helped pave the way for lots of future players to succeed in high school and college.
“It’s a great honor for me, and I know how important this tournament is,” said Meyers, who serves as a vice president for the WNBA Phoenix Mercury and NBA Phoenix Suns.
