Football: Hart beats Chaminade in overtime, 55-54

Brady White tied a school record with seven touchdown passes -- the last a 23-yard strike to Wes Fitzpatrick in overtime -- and Newhall Hart defeated West Hills Chaminade 55-54 at College of the Canyons.

White completed 36 of 53 passes for 490 yards and linebacker Cody Shoemaker tackled Donovan Lee in the backfield when Chaminade went for two points after pulling within a point on Dymond Lee’s 8-yard scoring reception on the Eagles’ first overtime possession.
Hart, ranked 12th in the Southland by The Times, got a school-record 99-yard touchdown run from Connor Wingenroth and Trent Irwin caught nine passes for 179 yards and three touchdowns. Davis Koppenhaver caught 11 passes for 141 yards and two scores.

Brad Kaaya finished 16 of 37 for 370 yards and three touchdowns, Lee caught two touchdown passes and Donovan Lee rushed for 133 yards and two touchdowns and caught a touchdown pass for Chaminade (1-1), ranked No. 8 by The Times.
