AT THE PLATE: The Dodgers’ reigning minor league player of the year, outfielder Jerry Sands, homered in the seventh inning. The Dodgers fielded a lineup that included their eight projected starting position players, but of them, only Rod Barajas got a hit.

ON THE MOUND: In his spring debut, Chad Billingsley held the Indians to three hits over three scoreless innings. He struck out three and walked none. Non-roster pitchers Wilkin De La Rosa, Jon Huber, Roman Colon and Oscar Villarreal combined to walk eight batters in five innings.

EXTRA BASES: Right-hander Lance Cormier, who made 60 appearances for Tampa Bay last season and is trying to make the team as a non-roster player, gave up a run on two hits.

UP NEXT: Ted Lilly faces the Kansas City Royals and Jeff Francis at Camelback Ranch at noon PST Wednesday.
