Update: The Anteaters have 10 players, including five starters, back from last season’s team that finished 12-20. Led by senior guard Daman Starring’s 25 points, Irvine defeated Nevada, 78-64, in its season opener Saturday. UCLA beat Irvine, 89-60, behind 19 points from Norman Powell last season at the Sports Arena. This is the third game between the teams in the last three seasons.
