L.A. Sparks on Saturday: at San Antonio Silver Stars
When: Noon.
Where: Freeman Coliseum.
On the air: TV: NBATV.
Records: Sparks 1-0, Silver Stars 0-1.
Update: San Antonio, just like the Sparks, is dealing with a change in location for the playoffs. “Batman Live” at Staples Center forced the Sparks to move to Galen Center on Thursday for Game 1, which they won, 93-86. This time it is a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert at AT&T; Center triggering San Antonio’s move to Freeman Coliseum for this elimination game. “At least it could have been someone from the ‘60s,” Silver Stars Coach Dan Hughes said. Hughes also said he thought it was the first game in years of coaching Becky Hammon and Sophia Young that they didn’t get to the free-throw line even once. In contrast, the Sparks’ Candace Parker and Kristi Toliver were a combined 17 of 18 from the line with Toliver hitting all 10 of her attempts in the playoff opener.
