Former Auburn running back Michael Dyer headed to Louisville

The national title race got more interesting with news that former Auburn star Michael Dyer is headed to Louisville.

It will be even more interesting if Louisville ends up playing Oregon for the national title. Dyer will long be remembered in Eugene for his dazzling 37-yard run in the 2010 BCS title game.

Dyer’s run set up the game-winning field goal to give Auburn a 22-19 win that capped the Tigers’ first national title campaign since 1957.

Dyer was named MVP of the BCS title game and rushed for more than 1,000 yards in each of his first two years.

Dyer got kicked out of Auburn for issues with drugs and guns, however, and landed at Arkansas State. He will arrive at Louisville as a junior and is eligible to play immediately.

Louisville, coming off a Sugar Bowl victory over Florida, debuted at No. 9 in Thursday’s USA Today college football poll.
