JaMarcus Russell has already been paid $36.4 million by the Oakland Raiders.

For many of the team’s fans, that’s probably $36.4 million too much for three lackluster seasons from the former No. 1 overall pick.

But Russell reportedly received one more big, fat check from the Raiders on Wednesday. The team paid its ex-quarterback close to $3 million to settle his disputed rookie contract, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Not a bad payday for a guy who hasn’t played for the team -- or any other -- since the 2009 season.

The Chronicle reports that Russell was still owed $3 million at the time of his release. Then each side filed a grievance against one another, with the Raiders seeking repayment of $9.55 million in salary advances and Russell saying he was owed an additional $9 million.

The reported settlement came as both sides were set to go to court.

Russell compiled a 7-18 record as a starter, throwing for 18 touchdowns and 23 interceptions and completing 52.1% of his passes.
