Martina Hingis named most valuable player of World Team Tennis season

Martina Hingis, who played for the Washington Kastles, was named most valuable player of the World Team Tennis season and former USC star Steve Johnson was named rookie of the year Thursday.
Johnson played for the Orange County Breakers.
Hingis is entered in the doubles competition next week at the WTA event in Carlsbad, causing speculation the 32-year-old former No. 1-ranked player in the world might be considering a comeback.
Jean-Julien Rojer of the Springfield Lasers was named the men’s most valuable player and Murphy Jensen, coach of the Kastles, is coach of the year.
