UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. Penn State basketball continues to land top talent in Philadelphia and this afternoon added a verbal pledge from four-star prospect Lamar Stevens.

The addition of Stevens, a 6-foot-6, 215-pound forward, completes the verbal commitments of a trio of highly touted Roman Catholic High School standouts who all are slated to join Patrick Chambers’ program. Stevens, ranked No. 81 nationally in the 2016 class according to Rivals, joins fellow Penn State pledges and current high school teammates Tony Carr and Nazeer Bostick.

Carr is a four-star prospect who is ranked No. 48 in the 2016 class, and Bostick is a three-star prospect. Three-star power forward Joe Hampton, from Virginia’s Oak Hill Academy, gave the Nittany Lions his pledge in May.

Stevens selected Penn State over scholarship offers from Indiana, Marquette, Pitt, Maryland, Temple and Villanova, among others. Penn State’s four-person 2016 class is ranked No. 8 in the nation by 247Sports.
