Update: Can Erick Torres do it again? Chivas USA’s star forward has scored in each of the team’s last three Major League Soccer games to give his club 1-0 victories in all three, the latest coming against Montreal Impact on July 5 at StubHub Center. As a result, Torres was selected MLS player of the week, although Chivas USA’s defense — led by goalkeeper Dan Kennedy — also gets much of the credit. This is the second of three regular-season matches between Chivas USA and conference rival Vancouver. The teams played to a 1-1 tie on March 16 at StubHub Center. Vancouver is coming off a 1-0 victory over the first-place Seattle Sounders on July 5, thanks to a goal by Whitecaps midfielder Sebastian Fernandez.
