Update: This is the final regular-season game between the clubs, with playoff implications for Real Salt Lake. Chivas USA has won its last two games, most recently defeating the Colorado Rapids, 2-1, on Oct. 11. Real Salt Lake, which has clinched a playoff spot, played to a scoreless tie against the Portland Timbers on Friday. Real Salt Lake is in fourth place in Major League Soccer’s Western Conference, one point behind third-place FC Dallas. The fourth- and fifth-place teams at the end of the regular season open the MLS postseason by playing a knockout game to determine who advances to the conference semifinals.
