Update: This is the only regular-season game between these interconference teams. New York won their sole meeting last year, 1-0 at Red Bull Arena, and the Red Bulls have won the last three games between the clubs. The Galaxy is coming off a 2-1 win against FC Dallas a week ago that extended the Galaxy’s undefeated streak to eight games and clinched a playoff spot in Major League Soccer’s Western Conference. New York is vying for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference and defeated the Seattle Sounders, 4-1, a week ago.
