Share

AT CHICAGO

When: noon PDT.

Where: Toyota Park, Bridgeview, Ill.

On the air: TV: ESPN, ESPN Deportes; Radio: 1150, 1330.

Records: Galaxy 6-10-2, Fire 8-5-4.

Record vs. Chicago: First meeting.

Update: The Galaxy, loser of two in a row, will try to turn things around without its chief playmaker after midfielder David Beckham was suspended and fined an undisclosed amount by the league for “confrontational and provocative” behavior during and after the team’s last road game in San Jose. Galaxy Coach Bruce Arena was also fined for publicly criticizing the officials working the same game. The Fire has lost just once in eight matches at home and hasn’t lost anywhere in more than a month. Marco Pappa, tied for the team lead with five goals, has scored twice in Chicago’s last three games while keeper Sean Johnson has pitched consecutive shutouts and hasn’t allowed a goal in his last 234 minutes. Galaxy keeper Josh Saunders, on the other hand, has given up six scores in his last two games, though he could benefit Sunday from the return of defender Omar Gonzalez, who will be playing for the second time since knee surgery in January.
