49ers running back Frank Gore thanks media, hints that he’ll return
San Francisco 49ers running back Frank Gore knows how to show his appreciation to local sports media: free food.
The 31-year-old veteran hooked up reporters at the team’s office Monday after the 49ers were eliminated from playoff contention with an 8-8 record.
“You all have been great,” Gore said. “You all have been great to me, so I wanted to bring you all some pizza.”
In addition to the pizza and thanks, Gore, who is eligible to enter free agency in March, said he would “be back,” according to reporters.
Gore had some highlight moments this season, but for the most part his performance was criticized as being underwhelming. He had 255 carries for 1,106 yards and four touchdowns.
