The Galaxy’s Alan Gordon was called up Tuesday by the U.S. national team for the knockout stage of the CONCACAF Gold Cup. The U.S. won its group Monday and will meet an as-yet-undetermined opponent in the quarterfinals Saturday in Baltimore.

Gold Cup teams are permitted to make up to six roster changes in the 24 hours after the completion of group play. Joe Corona and World Cup veteran DaMarcus Beasley were also added to the U.S. roster. They replace Greg Garza, Alfredo Morales and Jozy Altidore.

For Gordon, who scored the winning goal in the Galaxy’s 2-1 exhibition win over Mexico’s Club America last Saturday, the call-up will give him a chance to make his second appearance with the national team. In 2012, he came on a substitute and assisted on the game-winning goal in a World Cup qualifier with Antigua and Barbuda.

He was also called up for the knockout stage of the 2013 Gold Cup.

Gordon will join Galaxy teammates Gyasi Zardes and Omar Gonzalez on the team.
